Organising Committee

  • Dr Fiona Caithness

Fiona is a senior hydromorphologist at the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA), with extensive technical and scientific experience in fluvial geomorphology working within theacademic, regulatory and consultancy sectors.

  • Lucy Daniels

Lucy is a postgraduate researcher at the University of Glasgow, studying how river restoration impacts geomorphic diversity and flood risk.

  • Prof. Rebecca Hodge

Rebecca is a fluvial geomorphologist based at Durham University, with a particular interest in sediment transport. Rebecca uses a combination of innovative modelling and monitoring techniques to study sediment from the grain to landscape scale.

  • Prof. Julian Leyland

Julian is a professor of physical geography at University of Southampton. He uses environmental sensing techniques, including high resolution surveys, to study geomorphic system response to environmental change

  • Dr Annie Ockelford

Annie is a lecturer in environmental engineering at the University of Liverpool. Annie specialises in understanding river bed stability and structure, including bio-geomorphic interactions, using high resolution and high accuracy data capture method and citizen science.

  • Prof. Richard Williams

Richard is Chief Scientist (Freshwater) at the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research in New Zealand. Richard has extensive expertise in using high resolution survey techniques to characterise sediment rich landscapes and transport processes.
